Interfaces, Communications Technology and the Global Distribution of Medical Knowledge.

Helping to push medicine into the communications age with the development of powerful and innovative interfaces is the second tier of our work at Cyberarium. Conventional biomedicine is undergoing extraordinary changes becuase of communications technology. World Wide Web technologies are opening up a new era in medicine. Virtual Reality and new surgical techniques using extremely small video technology (i.e., laproscopic) are allowing medical procedures never before possible, over the web.

Again, the issue arises as to how physicians, patients, administration, records and insurers are going to be interacting with one another in real time over the net, securely. Our answer is a system allowing for multiple person, real time, and synthetic intelligence enhanced medical practice on line. Telemedicine is the traditional name for this idea of doing medicine at a distance. Older thinking about doing this with video and phone lines and single person to single person interaction is giving way to much more ambitious and future watching attempt called Distributed Medical Intelligence.

The idea of Distributed Medical Intelligence expresses the essence of what we are striving for: quality medical care on demand no matter the distance. Below are links to several areas of medical communications technology and interfaces.
