Catherine became quadriplegic around 1990 when she was in a car accident. Today, she moves around in a wheelchair. Through computer-human interfacing, Catherine is now able to use a computer and access the Internet. Through the limited motion in her arms, she can move a joystick that controls the mouse cursor on the computer screen. Catherine is familiar with computers through her previous job working with the telephone company. |

Catherine no longer attends physical therapy. However, she does have several people come in during the day to help her out. Vicki Carter is her aide and her two nurses are Lisa Stomach and Brenda Quinlin
Catherine is the mother of 3 children– –2 sons and a daughter– –all who have grown up and moved out of the house.
Her brother, Tom, and her sister, Rita, also live in the area.
